How cool: For the first time ever, we have ice cream at the tournament this year at Auf der Schmelz

The first day of the 33rd International Schmelz Tournament kicks off this Friday, August 28, with preliminary matches starting at 9:00 a.m. To help everyone cool down, there is a new treat available for players and spectators alike. An ice cream truck located right across from the ticket booth at the University Center on the Schmelz is serving various types of ice cream (including Twinni, Jolly, and Magnum) along with slushies. It is a mega-cool option given temperatures are hitting over 30 degrees.

In the food and drink area, you will find snacks, meals, coffee, and cake. Please note: you must pay at the cash desk first. Use your receipt to collect your selected food and drinks. It is also important to note that there is a 0.25 Euro deposit on all cans, plastic bottles, and cups. You will receive the 0.25 Euro back when you return the empty item. Please make sure to put all other waste and residual trash into the designated garbage bags.

This Friday evening, the official opening ceremony will take place outdoors near the University Center on the Schmelz starting around 7:30 p.m. All international teams are strongly encouraged to attend, as representatives from the embassies of the six participating nations have announced their presence.

And so it begins. Good luck to everyone!
