100 volunteers are supporting Schmelz Tournament

WAT Fünfhaus, the organizer of the Schmelz tournament, has been especially proud of this fact since 1993. Every year, numerous volunteers ensure that Austria’s largest youth handball tournament can take place. This year, at the 33rd edition of the tournament, more than 100 volunteers are working to guarantee the smoothest possible operation. WAT Fünfhaus and tournament director Christoph Zeiml would like to extend their sincere thanks to the helping mothers and fathers of the players, the players and coaches from the youth teams up to the senior team of Koppensteiner WAT Fünfhaus, the relatives, and all other handball friends and supporters.

The range of necessary tasks is vast and began months ago with preparations by the organizing committee. Now, starting Friday, five pairs of people will be stationed at the scorer’s tables on all five courts to ensure accurate match results. Every helping hand is also needed for tasks ranging from the grill to logistics, in addition to selling the official 2026 tournament jerseys and organizing the festive opening ceremony. There would be no tournament without all these many tireless volunteers.
