WAT Fünfhaus, the organizer of the 33rd International Schmelz Youth Handball Tournament taking place in the heart of Vienna from August 28 to 30, 2026, has extended the deadline for online registration until this coming Sunday, July 5. This decision comes after several teams submitted their entries for Austria’s largest youth handball tournament for girls and boys (birth years 2010, 2012, and 2014) over the past few days. A total of 43 teams from six nations (Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, and Austria) have already confirmed their participation (for a list and the breakdown by age group, please see the registered teams button).

In this final sprint, a boys’ team from this year’s surprise Austrian top-league champion, Roomz Jags Vöslau, has signed up for the international Schmelz tournament. The young players from Vöslau will compete in the boys’ 2010 age group. Alongside three other Austrian teams, they will face boys from MRK Metalac in Croatia, TVB Stuttgart in Germany, and Utena DSC in Lithuania. The 2010 boys, just like the 2010 girls, will play their matches at the Tellgasse sports hall near the Wiener Stadthalle.
