With SK Bratislava, Slovakia is also participating

The number of participating nations at the 33rd International Schmelz Youth Handball Tournament, taking place from August 28 to 30 in Vienna, is growing. Slovakia has now been added to the list. This increases the total number of nations confirmed for Austria’s largest youth handball tournament to six: Germany, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Austria, and the newcomer, Slovakia. Ukraine could also join as a seventh nation, as it did last year, though this depends on the ongoing war situation.

With the registration of SKP Bratislava, strong competition is being added to the boys’ youth tournament. The club from the Slovakian capital has registered two boys’ teams in the 2014 and 2012 age categories. In addition, the Schmelz tournament, organized by WAT Fünfhaus, includes the 2010 age group. The girls’ tournament will also be played in three age groups: 2010, 2012, and 2014. For both girls and boys, the 2010 age groups will play indoors at the Tellgasse sports hall near the Wiener Stadthalle.
